Henry Winter Davis letters, 1852-1866.

Fifty-five letters to state and national political figures relating to the American "Know-Nothing" Party, particularly in Maryland; Republican Party politics; the presidential elections of 1856 and 1860; and attitudes toward slavery and emancipation.
